If you’re gay and visiting Siem Reap then the MENs Gay Resort is a must stay. It’s the complete gay experience from the minute that you book until the moment that you leave. It certainly was the highlight of our Gay Asia Adventure. Originally we booked just 2 nights but after the first night we quickly booked another 4 nights. I would have happily stayed another few weeks if it was possible and will definitely be staying there in the future. Its one Asia’s premier gay resorts.
Here is what others had to say about the resort
“The newest and arguably most flamboyant gay hotel.” – The New York Times
“The staff are hard working, friendly and always willing to engage in conversation. And they are incredibly pleasant to look at. The property is absolutely beautiful.” – Mark
“Pierre is a wonderful host, the facilities are well maintained and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Particularly like the excellent poolside bar.” – James
“Pierre at Men’s Resort truly knows how to take care of guests!” – Dave
We booked on Exepdia and immediate received an email from the resort staff thanking us and asked if we required an airport transfer, which we quickly accepted. When we arrived at the airport a van was waiting for us and promptly transferred us to the resort. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the owner Pierre and the reception staff who gave us a welcoming refreshing drink whilst our bags were taken to our rooms.
The rooms are spacious, clean and have a modern industrial theme which was a nice touch. The resort has 6 spacious suites with king-sized beds and 4 standard rooms with queen-sized beds. All rooms are air-conditioned, have a LCD TV, minibar and tea and coffee-making facilities. Guests have unlimited free access to the pool, spa, sauna and gym. We settled in and then headed straight for the pool where we had a delightful swim. The pool is the center piece of the resort and most of the rooms overlook it. At the far end of the pool there is a waterfall which creates a lovely peaceful background noise. A lot of activity takes place around the pool which is where the bar is located.
Owner Pierre and the resorts small army of friendly staff are on hand to help plan your explorations of Angkor Wat and the local gay scene. Some of the staff are gay and some straight but all were happy enough to have a chat. The reception staff organised a tour van for us to take us to Angkor Wat. Van hire for the day with a driver and guide was surprisingly cheap. They were also quite helpful in providing maps and directions to all the local gay venues. The staff are incredibly beautiful and I would rate them as some of the sexiest guys in Siem Reap. Room, bar and pool side service was always quick and wherever you went in the resort you were greeted with a big Cambodian smile.
When booking try to get the “breakfast included” option. The breakfast menu has a number of dishes to choose from. I tried all of them and all were a great way to start the day. Very tasty indeed! The mini bruschetta totally rocks!! The have a complete lunch and dinner menu and have daily specials on offer. Enjoy your meals pool side, at the bar restaurant or for room service. Cocktails are a specialty at the resort and I recommend the piña colada. I consumed numerous during my stay there.
Although there is constant activity poolside and at the gym during the day, it’s the evening when things really heat up at the resort. The spa and sauna opens at 5pm and is about the time quite a few gorgeous local gay guys arrive looking for an international guy to spend some time with. They pay an entry fee of $5 USD to use the resort facilities. The spa and sauna are interconnected by a maze of dark corridors. There are also a few small dark rooms with mattresses where you can get intimate with a guy who you have just picked up. When I was in the spa, it was obvious there were a few lucky guys next to me getting head jobs from the locals. It was amusing and sexy to see the Cambodian guys going underwater constantly and then coming up for air after sucking dick! If you do pick up a local guy and I’m sure that you will, head for Bar Code gay bar which is the premier gay establishment in Siem Reap.
